Multi-creative photographic artist, writer and celebrator of beauty
Raquel Aranda lives on Whadjuk Country, Perth, Western Australia, and spends her days capturing moments at the intersection of the ordinary and poetic. A friendly face with a natural bent for creativity, Raquel is known for building connection and relationships through her lens, delivering powerful and enduring visual imagery.
Through exploring the relational worlds of the people we are, the places we go and the spaces we make, Raquel thoughtfully crafts stories into compelling photographic journeys.
An explorer and adventurer by nature, Raquel welcomes a creative challenge and is available for shoots across Australia and beyond.
“I tell stories through photographs – it makes people feel something, and I want that to do the talking”
Meet Raquel
Strong values and a commitment to genuine connection have guided every project I’ve worked on to date. From local cultural project, We Are Freo, to photographic journaling, editorial and visual storytelling shoots, the common theme is always the same: Creating enduring visual imagery that inspires, connects and tells a really good story.
Through my personal passion projects, I explore the relationship between artistry and meaning, developing technique and honing my craft on an intimate lifelong journey. I share my learning, stories and work through my newsletter, gather for good. I’d love it if you joined me.
The stories we carry in our back pockets are written by our life’s experiences - foundational and formative, stories about the people we are, the places we go and the spaces we make. These stories are both enduring and evolving, and capturing them authentically remains the most exciting and interesting aspect of my work.
I am an Australian freelance photographer, capturing worlds through sensitive and explorative photography, across our beautiful country and beyond.
I love connecting to my community: collaborating with fellow creatives, acknowledging the traditional owners of the land – the original storytellers of our southern country – and celebrating the ingenuity of small business owners keeping our city thriving.
With relationship-building and community-connecting at the heart of my work, I spend my days championing creative businesses, exploring interesting places and working with lifestyle brands to create memorable visuals.
